My Vietnam experience has begun…

Tuesday, February 15, 2011 – Look Out Vietnam !

I  launched my Blog today, and truly hope you will enjoy reading and following my activities as much as I plan on having living them and then trying to articulate them to you through this site with my limited ability to type and use the English language…

If you are asking yourself why in the world would anyone want to travel to Vietnam or the simpler question where the hell is Vietnam located in the world anyways – then you should check out this site.

The plan is to traverse Vietnam from the Mekong Delta in the South to the Red River in the North. Exploring the sights and sounds of the sprawling cities, various small towns and beaches along the coast. While I navigate my way through Vietnam meeting its people, experiencing the culture and sampling the vast array of food, I hope to find the inspiration to fill my blog, otherwise I will draw from my lack of a defined itinerary, alcohol induced situations and miscellaneous observations in an attempt to fill “”!

I am just now heading into Boston, checking into a suite at the Sheraton and meeting a cute little brunette for diner and a night on the town before an “American Style” 4:30AM wake-call and a taxi to Logan Airport.  My first flight is scheduled for a 6:00AM departure to New York’s JFK international airport and the beginning of my Blogging experience…

STAY TUNED FOR MY NEXT POST, but please feel free to check out the site.

About JSH

There are more than 195 countries in the world by my count and I want to see them all before they all start to look the same – The United Nations has 192 members, but they do not recognized two independent countries, the Vatican City and Kosovo. U.S. Department of State recognizes 194 independent countries around the world, but their list has a political agenda and is missing Taiwan. All of this is without getting into the dozens of territories and colonies that are sometimes called “countries” such as Puerto Rico, Bermuda, Greenland, Palestine, Western Sahara, and even the components of the United Kingdom (such as Northern Ireland, Scotland, Wales, and England) and without counting states and provinces like Texas and Montréal that think they are independent countries. No madder how you count or tag them they are changing, starting to look the same and losing a little bit of themself every day. I do not want to see the world through the eyes of Las Vegas or Disney, like reading the Cliff Notes of a Hemingway novel; you get the idea but miss the point! Life is short, but how long live is up to you…

It’s interesting to see this point of view. I can’t say fore sure if I agree or not, but it is something I will think about now.
