A Kevin Bean Moment

We arrived in Madrid on Saturday morning without issue other than a small situation before we even started.  I like to think of the episode as a “Kevin Bean”. It is Thursday night around 6:30 and I realize my travel paints that convert into shorts need

SPAIN – I have arrived, can I come in?

replacing.  No big deal, called Alice who was on her way home from work and said I was going to zip over to Bass Pro or EMS to pick up a new pair of paints.  With a little grief for packing the night before and a, hey can you return the stuff at Bass Pro from last weekend while you are out, I was off.  Fast forward it’s not about 9:30 and I hear a vice from upstairs yelling down to me – WHAT DID YOU RETURN AT BASS PRO?  Apparently there were two bags and the one on the bed has a new pair of really cool travel paint and top that at Alice was going to where tomorrow, not the one to return – so Alice is crying I am yelling how was I to know etc. etc. (a true Kevin Bean moment).  But the best part was Maggie as we said good night to her she said I know you probably do not want to know this but when you were yelling and mom was crying I was laughing really hard, you know it was kind of funny if you were in the next room!

About JSH

There are more than 195 countries in the world by my count and I want to see them all before they all start to look the same – The United Nations has 192 members, but they do not recognized two independent countries, the Vatican City and Kosovo. U.S. Department of State recognizes 194 independent countries around the world, but their list has a political agenda and is missing Taiwan. All of this is without getting into the dozens of territories and colonies that are sometimes called “countries” such as Puerto Rico, Bermuda, Greenland, Palestine, Western Sahara, and even the components of the United Kingdom (such as Northern Ireland, Scotland, Wales, and England) and without counting states and provinces like Texas and Montréal that think they are independent countries. No madder how you count or tag them they are changing, starting to look the same and losing a little bit of themself every day. I do not want to see the world through the eyes of Las Vegas or Disney, like reading the Cliff Notes of a Hemingway novel; you get the idea but miss the point! Life is short, but how long live is up to you…

LOL….brought back memories of when Kevin took the bag I had in the car to the dump for good will when it was intended for the dry cleaner…

As much as I truly understand Aunt Alice’s pain, I would probably have been laughing with Maggie!

How does this compare with other “Kevin Bean” moments?
So—did Alice get her outfit back from Bass Pro?

Not exactly the legacy I had hoped for. I feel your pain!
Anne, are you aware of my other moments or were you refering to Smillie’s other “Kevin Bean” moments?
